The rate lock was eventually honored.

I locked my rate in (I thought) over the phone but then about an hour later I got a call back saying the rates had gone up and I couldn't be locked in at that rate. On their website they have an email to send concerns so I contacted that person (VP of Secondary Marketing). After exchanging some emails I got this response:

Rest assured, We will do all we can. Over 7000 families utilized our company for financing last year and we are on pace to pass that in 2011. I just replied to your email and as one of the owners of AFR I will do all that I can to facilitate your request. Continued emailing of our staff, Myself included, will not provide a better ability to obtain 4% . That is simply not how AFR operates. Please give me a few moments to review and rectify the issues at hand.

As far as the sites, We own those URLs and have a new testimonials page being built for our MANY happy clients.

They didn't end up honoring the rate lock! Very frustrating.

I worked with American Financial Resources, Inc and Pete Kuruc. We were able to close in 28 days and overall had a good experience. If anyone needs an FHA loan to buy a house I would recommend them ..
