I was so upset by my experience I chose to block this process out , but now I must share my story because it makes me so upset the way things turned out with them.
As I read other reviews , they are right, in one word they are Crooks!
They strung me along for over to months. I was getting a fantastic rate and was thrilled. I have a jumbo loan and couldn't be happier.
My credit score is excellent, our income is well over 250,000
And everything checked out great.
The girl kept telling me everything was on cue and not to worry, she said loans are taking long to close now, but don't worry it will happen. My appraisal was done 2 das after I contacted them and needed to go to another board for further review. I thought that was weird but my agent said its standard procedure. After many talks and reassurances, about 2 months later I got an email that my Loan sat in appraisal too long and never got locked in on a loan.
I sat at my computer in shock. I was so angry but no one would take my call. My agent never bothered to talk to me again. I placed numerous calls to management but no one ever called back.
I lost out on the lowest rates in 2010.
I did contact American express who fought for me and got my appraisal money back, but I can not believe what they pulled.
They don't deserve any business and I really hope people start to read more and trust those of us who take the time to write in.
I hardly ever write..... Only if something is fantastic or in a case like this down right crooked!

Absolutely the worst experience I've ever had. I was hoping the online reviews were wrong, but I can't stress how bad this company is. I paid a $15 credit report fee and was told that I was pre-qualified for a Harp refinance. I had to fill out and submit a ton of forms, much more than I have ever filled out on any other refinance. The requests don't stop and they just keep on asking for odd off the wall requests. I submitted all the forms and they locked my rate at 3.475%. I was then told I would go through underwriting and that we would be able to close February 2nd. We were in underwriting for 12 days when all of a sudden we receive an email (yes, an email) saying we were declined because they don't issue credit to anyone based on the terms we applied. I get a seperate email saying they wanted more reserves. We have $50,000 in investment accounts, which was not enough for this company to do a government streamlined refinance.

If this was the case, we never should have gotten past the prequail, let alone getting to underwriting. Not to mention taking 12 days to say we didn't qualify. They had all this information upfront when we were pre-qualified.

We lost a $200 subordination fee that we paid, they don't answer emails unless it's initiated by them and they don't return phone calls.

My experience, like many others, was an expensive ongoing nightmare.

Listen to the reviews and run from Amerisave as fast as you can!

Welcome to the new world of home or investment property refinances. Yes, the rates are incredibly low but it will be very hard to qualify as Amerisave, like all other loan providers, will scrutinize your credit, your property's LTV, and 1000 other facts about you and/or the property along the way. They make no bones about it: you the consumer are "at risk" until and unless the appraisal comes in at a favorable LTV ratio, you make that initial "investment" of paying for the appraisal with no guarantees that they will make you a loan. I met and talked to my appraiser, a local guy. He was NOT directly employed by Amerisave. Amerisave did NOT "make any money" off the appraisal he provided. We passed that "test", and the Amerisave website kept great track of all the required documentation needed but be forewarned, you will be asked for a lot of it. The only difficulty we had was the "11th hour" requests for more and more (and more) documentation by the loan underwriter. You need to be proactive. If you are they will be responsive. But you need to ask, e-mail, even call. In the final week I was talking to our loan processor on a daily basis, but we did finally close and ended up with a fantastic rate. Gone are the days of easy loans, fellow Americans.

Amerisave should be sued. They took my appraisal fees for two properties and found loop holes not to provide the loans. My credit is 800; my income is $200K,the properies are both rentals with income covering the mortgages. They found every excuse possible and did not provide any info unless I asked over an over. They were rude.
They also made money off both appraisals. If I did not know better I would think their business model is to promise low rates that they cannot deliver and then get folks to pay the appraisal fee and let them go.

The rates looked great so I seriously considered them and two others. When I tried to get a Good Faith Estimate so I would have it in writing, my primary contact was evasive - said I could easily get it online. Well, to get to the screen where I can do that I had to do the credit check ($7.50 - OK, fair), pre-authorize an appraisal ($400, and my contact said it's not charged until the appraisal...I hope), and then it asks for a NON-REFUNDABLE $500 rate lock. All to get a GFE.

The person on chat would not clearly answer a basic question as to whether it's correct that I can only get a GFE at that point. Said I could get a GFE from my primary contact...well, that's the person who was evasive and told me I could get it online.

Very frustrating for something that looked promising at first. I can't give it one start since they didn't rip me off (not yet, at least) like it appears they did others here.

Amerisave is the worst mortgage company I have ever seen. I refinanced twice in the last 3 years and had no problem whatsoever, and the loans were placed with Bank of America. Amerisave locked my rate for 6 weeks and couldn't process my loan in time to close on the lock. I even placed my own title insurance and scheduled a closing the day before the lock ran out, and Amerisave admitted that they could not process the loan in time, then made lame excuses blaming it on other non-existent factors.
Horrible service -- all documented in e-mails. I believe Amerisave fraudulently took my appraisal fees knowing they could not deliver. I am instituting an investigation with both the FTC and my state's Attorney General to bar them from doing business here. The processors blatantly lie, and make up reasons not to deliver. DO NOT EVER CONSIDER DOING BUSINESS WITH AMERISAVE -- YOU WILL LOSE YOUR MONEY AND NOT GET WHAT WAS REPRESENTED.

I have perfect credit and a lot of equity. They quoted me an amazing rate and low closing cost on their website. Once I paid for the appraisal they told me I no longer qualified for that deal and they tried charging points or raising the rate up almost a 1/4 higher. These guys are crooks!
DO NOT USE AMERISAVE

Horrible experience. Rude and unprofessional. Do not get back to you on the phone. Emails are short and curt, no explanations. Treat you like they are the client and you are the service. So many problems, nothing is smooth or easy with them. I have bought 5 other properties and nothing was as miserable as this company.
