I was with New Century, I took the interest only because they said if I decided to keep it after 3 yrs they would refinance me, I had a 800 score, well they folded my house went from 535k to 280k. CMS said they could not refi, they only processed payments, my loan went variable, my payments went way up. I tried since Nov 07 to short sale, CMS has constantly lost my paperwork, I lost several buyers, I just sent all my paperwork for the 3rd time, they never call you back, you have to get in a fight every time to talk to a supervisor. I payed 5k in taxes for 07 and kept the landscaping perfect so I could get it sold, but CMS could care less, they harass me every day, I had to call them and demand they didn't call me at 5am, they said I was lying. I have run out of money and just don't know what to do now, I am sick of them.
How did my payments go up?

When they modified my loan. promising to lower the payments, but they went up, not sure how that is lowering. They change you're loan officer every 3 months so you never know who to talk to. CMS is not willing to work anything out just want money or your house,

These people are crooks. They have raised my mortgage $1200/month in a year. The first time I went for modification, they told me my health insurance payments were a luxury and added that back into my net income, counted my annual bonus as additional income several times a year and added that to my net income, and said any transfers of money between accounts was a sign of additional income and added that back into my net income. When they redid my net income, I showed no need; no wonder! Then I called again: "Oh, if we made your mortgage what you could afford, that would be socialism!" HUD told me that all of this behavior was outside federal statutes and I should report them to my state attorney general, which I did. CMS then said that become I did that, they couldn't consider a refi. When I threatened them with legal action, then they sent the issue to their guru. The guru called me and told me that I had to think about Carrington's business interests. They said that I only deserved to have $725 a month in excess of their mortgage payment and my car payment and car insurance an if I had more, I didn't quality for a modification. Because I had more than $725 in my pocket after their mortgage and only my car payment, I didn't qualitfy for modification. I then asked them about my property taxes, my property insurance, my student loan, my credit card payments. And their guru literally said that they didn't care. That CMS' business interests dictate that they cannot be concerned with any consumer credit issues and that their mortgage payments are number 1, and that they expected me to be delinquent on all consumer credit and were glad for it, and could see that I would be, if I focused just on their mortgage payments. If anyone wonders why we have an economic crisis in this country, look to CMS. This attitude and response tells it all. Oh, and they never cared to disclose that my mortgage was adjustable or that I had an early termination penalty before my closing. They lied intentionally. Anyone interested in a class action suit? I will find a lawyer.

I agree they are the worst, I have had good credit, good loans for many years, they would not accept my insurance and bought me some bad insurance for 2000K, I was paying 800 for a good one, I finally had to go pay cash for it so they would drop the terrible coverage, I am not delinquent, so they wont work to lower my rate, I will move to a new company really.

We hit financial hardship when our mortgage's interest rate rose and my husband's work cut back his hours.

We worked with Carrington and they helped us into a much easier loan.

GREAT WORK!

Carrington Mortgage does appear to be on top of things. When I contacted them last month regarding my loan adjusting on June 1, 2008 and whether nor not my wife and I could have our loan modified, one of their customer service reps was very nice, and she actually told me what to say in my hardship letter after I explained to her my situation.

I faxed to them our bank statements, W-2s, check stubs, hardship letter, and monthly expense sheet. The next day, Steve Nash from their Loss Mitigation department called and spoke to my wife. He basically said that we qualified for a loan modification, but since it was April and our loan doesn't begin adjust until June 1, 2008, he suggested that we wait until May 1st to start the paperwork.

It's now May and the paper work has begun as of last Monday, May 5, when I spoke to Steve. He just said that he needed an updated bank statement from us and my wife's proof of income since I didn't submit her income in the first fax, and that he would be submitting our application to the underwriters. He gave me his email address, and now we are waiting on the papers to arrive.

Someone said in an earlier post that they tried to pay their Carrington Mortgage online and it wouldn't allow them to access their account. I, too, tried accessing my account on line, and the same message came up for me as well. I am guessing that when the loan modification process starts with Carrington, you can't access your account until the modification process is completed.

I will keep you all posted on my progress. But so far, I have not had any problems with this process thus far.
