3 years ago I lost my job and found a new one within 6 months. Made my payments on time anyways.
Now I work for a lot less money so I had to file. Well it's been 3 yrs and I called last month to ask if I could redo my mortgage to make it easier on me. They said NO because I'm current. What the hell. Well I didnt reafirm the mortgage so maybe I should just walk away and give them the house.

Glad you folks got all the help to stay above by walking over the rest of us. What a bunch of Jack Asses.....

I actually work for Citimortgage in Texas and, let me tell you, it's a nightmare for us too.

Nearly everything--and I mean EVERYTHING--it set up on call centers--I think even the underwriters. Everyone has expected "handle times" that are directly tied both to performance ratings and monthly bonuses. That's right--my bonus depends in part on getting you off the phone.

In the beginning, those of us at the bottom--with no mortgage experience and nearly no training--were little more than glorified receptists. Over time, operations have improved, due to pressure from Congress on the outside and angry employees on the inside.

But it's a still fundamentally-flawed, stupidly-designed system, designed basically to compensate for the lack of staff by pushing them as hard as possible.

It's also obssessively focused on payments. That doesn't mean you won't reach people who want to help you, but keep in mind they are going against the grain.

Not that Citi isn't doing modifications or short sales--it is. But you're just a $$ to the upper management, and the process is so spread out and disjointed it's a wonder anything.

This is not helped by a mindless autodialer system wherein employees are forced to waste considerable amounts of their time calling people without any prior knowledge of their situation, or anyone had previously spoken with them. THe system quite literally does not allow the employee to see any account details until they are speaking with the borrower (no doubt some fool thought that was a security measure).

In short, the most incompentently-managed place I have ever worked.

I needed to lower my 6.75 interest rate on our mortgage so turned to citimortgage.
The loan officer was terrific! Gave him $450 to start. Thats when the poblem started.Went thru hoops trying to satisfy their requests, was passed off to different loan officers who needed all the paper work over again! Then they lost the paper work-had to send it again!!OMG. 6 months later after all that work (They wanted sooo much info from 3 years ago (We have over 850 credit score..A ) Time expired and was dropped losing our money.

Cont'd from My 2008 review from A Cook County Typical Home Owner.......
------------------------------------------------

American dream for owning a home is at the brink of collapse or free fall. When will we ever learn to live in a more harmony and still maintain a home and a job to raise to our family. In today's economy, it is not hard to win-win senarios for a typical home owner and the great Mortgage Lender. From this claim, it will analyze and study the possibility for experts to examine.

What is win-win senario for a typical home owner and the American Mortgage Lender? For a typical owner, his basic goal and dream should be paying all his debts. His biggest debt happens to be owning a home. Is it wrong? No, this is a very a valid and right in the fundamental sense. A typical home owner need to maintain his dream, his integrity, and his job throughout the 30 years or 360 months. He is encourage to pay it off sooner than the 30 years. This is too ideal and to good to be true. It is not wrong to think of and dream of. In fact, it is encourage for chasing this American Dream to think and dream on it. For a typical Mortgage Lender, it is in the best interest to make reasonable and fair profits. It needs to pay off it own liability. It still needs to endure throughout the 30 years of the loan and still be able to pay its employees. To be win-win senario, the typical home owner pay his fair dues and the lender collect his fair returns.

A scale is weight down if one is decided to be greedy. A mortgage interest rate has change from 6.25% to 5%. This is a good step to be in the right direction for win-win senario. It may be too good but it is too late useless. As a matter of fact, it is useless when a Mortgage Lender want at least $5000 dollar of hidden fees from the typical home owner inorder to do the business. This type of thinking is scaming the home owners especially the Same Mortgage Lender has all the paperwork. A simple solution for the win-win senario is to do no question ask the Mortgage Modification. A small fee to compensate such work is understandable but $5000 to complete this Modification task is just PURE Scam for typical home owners. Being around the bush, this Mortgage Lender eventually rejects and denying the Modification. This is just pure evil.

The solution to be in the win-win situation is Mortgage Modification or face the lose-lose senario in 2009-2010. Although most argue that the economy is getting better in 2009-2010, this figure is probably projecting based on Dow / the street performance. The argument is weak and flaw. The un-employment will contribute to this financial crisis and it will escalate to the commercial realm. All of this will lead to Uncle Sam will step in and do itself and all of us a favor in what this article is suggesting instead of the Banks which is holding back by their investors.

Citi Loan Modification

We got the loan modification by done by Citimortgage in Aug'2009.After 2 months we got a foreclosure notice. When we asked they are telling several stories

1. Ignore the letter
2. there is an error in the Modification agreement
3. You need to reapply

When i told them when there is a valid agreement and i am willing to honor, how can you cancel the permanant loan modification agreement? There is no answer from them.

It is a big harassment by them. They don't talk properly.

Whether anyone experienced same problem?
