We have had our mortgage with company, tryed to refinace, got terrible customer sevice. The appraisal was a joke. We have a home on the river and the appraiser did not account for that. He compared our home to homes on interior lots. One house he stated was waterfront was not even on the water. We brought this to their attention and faxed homes that had sold on the water, they would not even consider these. The appraiser appraised our home $74,000.00 under our city assessment.
I'll leave you to think if this is a company looking toa make loans or just to get the money you pay upfront.
We have made payments ontime every month and wanted to lower our interest rate and payoff bills. We have excellent credit and will refinance with another company and never deal with countrywide again.
Also if your new to mortgages there are companies that when you lock in a rate, that is the RATE you get at closing and your closing statement is that amount that you pay at closing, if this is not the case do not close go to another company!

The day we finally scheduled a closing time, this office had to re-print our closing docs THREE times (and there were STILL corrections that we had to initial next to)! We had to wait and re sign most of the paperwork multiple times. There were very simple errors that should have been caught with a good proofreading, but I am fairly certain that no one bothered to proofread our documents as there were many glaring, sloppy mistakes. About one month after we finished closing and the house officially ours, Nick called to say that there was a missing warranty form. This form should have been given to us prior to closing. Nick repeatedly called us and on Thursday, just THREE days after the form was sent, he leaves us a voicemail threatening that they will pull back the loan and take back our house! We have tried to call Janis Preslo at (310) 370-4633 #220 over the course of two to three weeks to complain about our situation, only to receive absolutely no feedback or attempt at contact. Countrywide doesn't care about its customers--they just want your money.

My fiancee and I recently purchased a house through the Countrywide office in Torrance. One of the many complaints, Nick Costa threatened to take back our loan just THREE days after they sent us the form, (and after one month after the house was legally ours), because THEY forgot a form!

I recently refinanced through Countrywide. I was sent a letter saying that I had successfully set up online payments and I could expect the payments to be deducted from my account soon. The letter even mentioned which specific dates these deductions would occur. The dates came... no deductions. I called and found out that the process never went through because of a paperwork issue on my part. Funny thing... that letter that told me it was all successful. The rep was rude, condescending, and continuously put the blame for the late payment on me. Go elsewhere...

I chose Countrywide because of their reputation for professionalism and their affiliation with recognized dental organizations in the area. From my first conversation, I found Marty Mattler to be very thorough in getting to know me and my practice criteria. He made the process of buying my practice easy, by acting as a catalyst and keeping everything on track along the way.

I used to work for these guys. Even though they face a tough road ahead, most of them were committed and decent loan officers. 1-800-556-9568 is the main number

Tried to re-fi with Countrywide recently. Got a complete run around. Promissed one thing then changed the story the next day, several times. They took my appraisal and basically tore it up. AFTER I jumped through a bunch of hoops, paid additional money to change the appraisal to their requirements. They wanted me to shell out another $400 for a new one. Horrible experience.

I received a letter in the mail from our mortgage company stating that they have just recently become aware that a "former employee" sold unauthorized personal information to a third party. The information contained our name, social security number, address, mortgage loan number, and various other loan and application information.

Has anyone have this happen to them? I am in a state of shock right now.

I called this company using the 1-800 number listed online. The girl who answered the call was really polite, and they transferred me to a loan officer who was a complete jerk and uninterested in trying to help me compile information about the loan I was looking to get. I got one word answers from him. It was like pulling teeth. I wouldn't even bother submitting a loan application with this company.
I wouldn't use country wide (BAD NEWs)

I was looking to refinance and they completely told me one thing that was all good and so once i paid the application and appraisal fee then they told me something different that made the deal all bad. I would NOT deal with them as it appears they are looking for people with alot of equity they can charge their secret fees against. And the so called experienced rep acted like he didnt know it wouldnt. Lying piece of garbage....
