We just closed, they gave us a chance that well fargo and bank of america wouldn't and others didn't even try. They might have some strict underwriting rules but I am sure they have their reason, you can\'t give loans to everybody.

Missed Out on Closing Date

Franklin American screwed up my closing date. The eprson processing the paperwork, decided to go on vacation before finishing it or delegating the paperwork to someone else. We are purchasing a rental unit and are losing rental income because of this. This has also blocked our abilities to communicate with the tenants about renewing their leases. This may also push the close beyond the new year which will have some huge tax implications for us. And since we are going to owner occ the unit it may impact our $8,000 first time buyer credit. If I had the cash sitting around I would pay this loan off in full the second we signed the paperwork. I would love to not give them a penny of interest off me.

I have worked with Franklin American Mortgage and they are solid. They're pricing is pretty good if not great and their service is strong.

They are an A paper and Govie lender, pure and simple. They are very well-positioned as anyone to survive...probably better than most to be honest. They're known for their conservative underwriting so don't bother with the edgy stuff.

I used them just recently, and the experience wasn't that well.

They have very strict underwriting that doesn't make sense.
