My wife and I began looking for our first mortgage by going to our bank (which will remain unnamed). They were good to work with and gave us a pre-qualification letter; however, after we made an offer on a condo the bank stated that they couldn't confirm that the loan would be approved until it went to their underwriting department and that the process would take about a month. After discussing it with our real estate agent he recommended that we go to Frank Propati at MegaStar. Everyone we dealt with there was prompt, professional, and extremely knowledgeable. They offered a slightly better rate than the bank but most of all they confirmed that we WOULD get the loan. We went with them and couldn't have been happier. In the end MegaStar sells the loan. Guess who bought it.....my own bank! In essence we got a better rate with our own bank by using MegaStar than we would have gotten as a customer of the bank and on top of that we had the peace-of-mind that our loan was going to go through.

I had a mortgage with them when I was living in Denver. They were very eager to help me into the loan, but once I was in, I felt that I got the run around anytime I had a simple question
Not fair to their employees

I am a former employee of LoDo Residential Mortgage a division Megastar Financial. During the time I worked there Jon Lopez, my direct boss and the owner of the company verbally and mentally abused me. He constantly bounced my paychecks and told me it was my fault. He asked me to work overtime and on the weekend and never paid me for my extra work. He put me on job probation for asking for my paycheck. He also tried to hold my vacation check from me after I quit.

Jon had a problem with lying to customers and forging signatures in order to close loans.
Jon has serious financial problems and they were passed off to me through verbal abuse. I earned a commission and was to be paid on it last week. The parent company Megastar Financial, refused to pay me and ignored ALL the evidence (including a letter from my client stating that I was his only contact) that the commission was to be mine. I tried contacting Jeff Wilhelm of human resources as well as Anita Padilla the CEO of the company neither of them would listen to my case and ignored the evidence.

I asked Anita to reconsider, and she said her decision was firm. It is my goal to make the general public aware that this company 'Megastar Financial Corp- America's most trusted mortgage company' does not know how to treat their employees present or former.
