Reading these review we don't know whether to feel a little better that we are not the only ones this is happening to or just plain mad that a mortgage company can be crooks and they are not prosecuted. Same story here, stuck in a high interest loan. We pay $1200 a month and only $45 goes to our principle. After numerous attempts to refinance, they just will not work with us. We apparently make too much money for the fed gov to help out also. Statements about balances and where your money goes are unclear. We had nearly been foreclosed on when we were not even 3 full payments behind. We involved an attorney and stopped the foreclosure, paid $7500.00 to bring us "current".Our statement the month after paying $7500.00 had an unexplainable amount of late fees still on it but Nationstar could not explain what the $7500.00 got applied to. We have been completely unhappy with this company. And yes, we get at least 2 letters a month about refinancing, which they will not let us do.

I could go on forever about NATIONSTAR MORTGAGE! They are crooks hiding behind all the red tape they create to rip off consumers including myself. They have a virtual gun to my head and are stealing from me and thousands of other customers.
COMPLAINTS:
? The loan itself: I?ve tried to refinance to afford to stay in my house; they will not help me out. They just want to charge me fees for an attempt that will fail.
? They have tried to apply fees that I have at times fought from being applied and many fees that I had to take the hit and accept.
? They returned a check #1223 for $373.00 dated 8/1/2010. In the letter dated 8/2/2010 from Nationstar they said they were unable to process the check due to the ?LEGAL LINE?. My handwriting is not the best but it?s pretty sad when a large corporation stoops this low to acquire more fees from me and others. Nationstar knows there would be no way to mail another check in time before I would be assed another fee for being late, so I did a check over the phone in which they charged me $7.50 down from the normal $15.00 and acted like they did me a favor, now multiply that by thousands of customers.

Nationstar bought my mortgage from One West Bank during the month I had initiated a refinance with a different lender. Nationstar refuses to supply me or my new lender with a Payoff Statement in violation of California Civil Code 2943 which provides penalties of $300 per request after 21 days from the initial request. It has now been 30 days since the initial request with at least two requests a day from the onset.

All required documents were submitted several times. No call backs, although promised, no statement, although promised repeatedly for fax the same business day. Three complaints filed with Nationstar, two with the California State Department of Financial Institutions, and one with the California State Bureau of Corporations, which licenses Nationstar to do business in California. My congressman is next. This company has cost me thousands of dollars because I lost my new loan through non-compliance of Nationstar mortgage.

After talking with customer service who are very rude, nothing got accomplished. They have lost my payments 3 times. All of which is my fault so they have told me. They don't take any responsibility for their mistakes and on top of that I have been charged a late fee for the 3 times they have "lost" my payments. They do not listen when you talk to them nor do they care what a person has to say. My first loan was through Flagstar which also lost a payment. But didn't charge me the late fee after they admitted that it was their fault. Also after a lot of complaining. But I can call all I want and complain all I want with these people and they are not sorry one bit.They are crooks and I hope they go down for it. Taking advantage of people. It's time for karma to get on them!

We have to do something to stop these crooks from leading consumers to believe they will get a modification, and once they receive the money from the government they leave you out in the cold. They increased my mortgage payment from $1220 a month to $3600 a month, and force placed an escrow, after 8 years!! This is crazy! After they told me my modification was complete and I was only waiting on my trial payments, I call back the next week and they told there's been a mandatory change to the HAMP program by the Government, and I need to pay $10,380 to bring my account current or face foreclosure. They are very rude and every time I call they tell me something different. Not only that I have been paying my own taxes and insurance and they have me double paying my homeowners because of the force placed escrow. I called back to inform that I have friends and family that work for congress and there is no mandatory change in the HAMP program, it?s strictly voluntary for unemployed homeowners and a manager immediately got on the phone and stated they can no longer speak with me over the phone. EVERYONE PLEASE LET YOUR STATES CONGRESS KNOW WHATS GOING ON WHITH THIS COMPANY'S FRAUDULENT PRACTICES!!

This has got to be the worst mortgage company ever. They have defaulted on their own mortgage by failing to answer written communications within 30 days as required by the mortgage contract.

RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN AWAY FROM NATIONSTAR MORTGAGE.

I am currently (unfortunately and NOT by my own choosing) a client of Nationstar Mortgage. My original loan was written through GMAC and for 4 years service was flawless. I have had various mortgages on automatic withdrawal from my checking account since 1981 and had NEVER missed a payment. Sometime during 2009 - I'm not sure when because I was not notified - my mortgage was purchased by Nationstar. Since that time, I have authorised direct debit payments to Nationstar AND mailed in enough money to pay this account through June of 2010, not one cent has been applied to the account. I am now over 6 months behind on my mortgage as they will not take money from my checking account, they will not cash any checks or accept money orders for payment. The last time I called I was told that I needed to bring cash to their office to make the payments each month. I live in NY and their office is in Lewisville TX. What they are telling me is that I need to drive over 4000 miles a month to pay my mortgage. Not only am I 6 months behind on my mortgage,they are reporting to the credit bureau that I am not making payments. They are adding both late charges and service fees and the account has been turned over to their collection department. They call at least twice and up to 10 times a day at 20 minute intervals. I have spoken to at least 50 different people there yet nothing has been resolved. And just for the record - The last time I spoke to someone at their office I asked how much they show that I currently owe and was told "Don't worry about that. We will figure that out later"

And PS - the instructions for the review say to solve your problems first????? I have been trying to get a mortgage company to take my money for over 6 months and they have refused it!! I cannot resolve this with them.

This is regarding the Home Affordable Modification program. I am having a terrible time with my Mortgage Servicer, and do not know what to do. It seems they are abusing this program and taking all they can from it, and leaving home owners out in the cold. I applied for a Modification in February 2009. My loan servicer was Flagstar. After many, calls they finally started on my modification, in August 2009. I never missed a payment, and always paid on time. I begged, and borrowed from everyone I could to make my payments until the modification was approved. In August, I received a call, from the Modification Specialist, Jennifer McGregor, that on September 1st I would start my 3 trial payments of $2203.01. She sent me the documents, including the worksheet and breakdown of the payment. $1732.87 for P

to be honest i like to rate them ZERO not even ONE

very very very poor service, they dont care, they take it veryt personal, they dont answer questios they work like computer not human at all, they want you to go bad on your loan, they just dont care at all, they lie, they make you deal with too many people and every one of them on different page, they alos hang-up phone on you, and some times some of nationstar mortgage get very nasty over the phone, one this they good at they call me every month asking me for the monthly payment even that iam on time .
i fell like stupid dealing with them , cause they make me fell like that, i hope they go out of business, cause there are no good to there customers. i can go on and on and on but im going stop here cause the more i say thigs about them the more i get mad about my self and my luck of dealing with a losers.
