DOn't do it! Get a local broker. I have perfect credit and all docs in order -- should be simple refi, right? Apparently not. Applied mid September, still no closing date set as of today 11/21 and I've been docked about $700. I don't even know if "locked in" rate will still be good? Can't get anyone on the phone, can't zero out to an operator to ask for supervisor. Any activity that has occurred has been at my vigorous and repeated prompting. I've never worked so hard for someone else to make a lot of money! (I've been with Suntrust mortgage for 8 years though and service has been fine. I just wish I'd gone through my local broker vs the on-line app.)

I'd rate it 0 if there was that option. My auto loan was sold from another company to Suntrust. When I called Suntrust they didn't even acknowledge or have record of my loan, then 1 month later they are charging me late fee and turning it into credit bureau. In the process of trying to resolve with them I was hung up on 2 times. I decided to pay off the loan with them...they are not getting any interest money from me. Ridiculous. Now I'm having to deal with them on the Credit report...again rude and disrespectful. Be glad if you haven't had to deal with them.
So dissapointed and disgusted!

I am (soon to be was) a client of David Baca (Millersville, MD) of Suntrust. He had worked with another family member and I thought I would throw him some business in 2008 financing my first home.

I contacted Mr. Baca recently to re-finance my home and look to possible finance an additional property. I have NEVER been treated with such disrespect. He promised to call multiple times to answer a few question and he never did. When I asked him if he treated all of his clients like this, he said "I'm just one little inadequate man I guess."

I told him that I was going to take my business elsewhere and he said fine... just like that.

I am a very young woman who is rapidly progressing in my gross income. I could have been a very active customer for David, but his disrespect, arrogance, and lack of customer care is forcing me to end my relationship with Mr. Baca. I will be sure to inform my colleagues, friends, and family to never give Mr. Baca any business in the future.

I believe that Suntrust should quickly reevaluate Mr. Baca's contribution as an employee.

It's unacceptable to have a man like him on your staff Suntrust!

I'm disgusted, but glad to know his true colors.

I have never even thought it possible for a company to commit such acts of extortion! But yet, there they are. Can anyone say "Bush" or "Coca-Cola"?

Suntrust can be difficult to deal with. Apparently after being with them for 5 yrs and no late pmts. we had a check lost in the mail. They notified us by phone after it was 15 days late

SunTrust had all of the paperwork ready in time for an early closing (less than a month) and everything went very smoothly. Because of our good credit they waived the appraisal and SunTrust will not sell the loan. We locked in at a great fixed rate and there is no prepayment penalty. The loan officer was polite and friendly and always called back promptly with answers to our questions/concerns. This is our third house purchase and by far the easiest we've had.
