US Bank Reviews

I have had a mortgage with US Bank for the past 5 years. We recently experienced hail and wind damage to our home and received a check from our insurance to cover the damage. It was written to US Bank as well. I started the most ridiculously-long process to try to get our money from them to pay our contractors. There are a ton of forms, and they are no help when you call them. In fact they will just sit back and do nothing if your forms are missing a date or something minor and not tell you!!!!! We have been trying to get our money back from them for over a month now. Our contractors are done, and we can't pay them because everything takes 2 or 3 weeks to process....even something as simple as a phone call. It is the worst customer experience I have ever had. If you're going to get a mortgage with them you better hope you don't have to claim damage at any point during the life of that loan!!

As the others have posted, US bank is a complete joke. I started the Refi process with them in February, now it is the middle of June and I am no closer to closing than I was when I started. They make false promises, and even though they have begged me to stay, they keep screwing me. I wish I could rate them at less than one star.

I have been paying a mortgage for over 25 years and have had 2 mortgages the last 15 years. Never have I had to deal with a bank as bad as US Bank. They will nickel

This bank is apparently the only lender in CA that does second loans. They are overloaded with work and they aren't closing their loans on time. There is no way to extend the lock or put a rush on the paperwork. This bank has cost me hundreds of dollars a month by not closing two loans while in the meantime, interest rates have gone up 1/2 to a full point. This bank couldn't care less about the fact that my kids college fund was just wiped out by them. If you use this bank, have a backup. But, I would recommend doing anything you can to avoid them.
